Queen’s New Album and Tour

Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen plan to return to the recording studio in October to record a new studio album with former Bad Company and Free vocalist Paul Rodgers. On August 15, 2006, Brian May confirmed through his website that Queen + Paul Rodgers would begin producing a new studio album beginning in October, to be recorded at a “secret location”. According to Roger Taylor the band is currently halfway through the new album. It will be released sometime in 2008, with a tour to follow in the same year.
“I talked to Paul last night, the one and only Paul Rodgers, and confirmed that we will be heading into the studio in October …. at a secret location!” May says on his Web site. “We will be turning our heads towards the studio interaction which, just possibly, will bring us all to a new place. We will take it gently at first, the priority being to feel good, and put ourselves in the mood to create.

Jay-Z to launch $100m label?

The hip-hop mogul – who recently quit his role as president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Def Jam Recordings – is reportedly asking music labels for the mammoth investment for new project Carter Music Group, but has so far seen his demands dismissed.A source told the New York Post newspaper: ‘Jay-Z is asking for way too much. He wants a label to give him $100 million for the Carter Music Group and provide for overhead, development and digital investment. It’s crazy. He wants the label to basically be his venture capital fund – but unlike a venture capital, they won’t get 50 per cent.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to have Twins!

Angelina Jolie will give birth to twins in her late mother’s native France, if the latest U.S. news reports are to be believed. Celebrity magazine In Touch reports the actress and partner Brad Pitt are expecting a boy and a girl. The couple has yet to confirm the baby news, even though Jolie’s ever-growing belly suggests she’s with child, and their publicist is offering a firm “no comment” on the latest reports.
